Hi,

Head of Jimi Hendrix made in SILO 1.01 demo, additional clothing, body, texturing, rendering and animation will be done in Cinema 4D. I have only 6 usage left, so there isn't much tweaking I can actually do, but any C&C is most welcomed.

Great start !
Silo is a great app, very promising, as soon as they fix those nasty crashes i'll give it a go.

tjnyc - very nice mesh/model!

how do you compare it to Wings3D? I've been meaning to give it a try but as yet hav'nt.

Thanks all.

Yes, it does crash, why do you think it took me down to 6 usage.;)

Wings has a faster workflow and a more mature set of tools than Silo, but Silo is where the speed is at. Silo will appeal to Maya and C4D users, while XSI and LW users probably won't get much out of it, IMHO.

Jimmy had legs that muscular?
I always thought he was a skinny guy....

I like the face so far. Must see hair :)

Ha ha! :)

Good point, his legs are thin but they are muscular. I do need to thin then out though. Yeah, it ain't Jimi without the fro or his strat. They are coming. ;)

Great ! How long did it take you ? What tools do you use the most ?
(i agree on the legs )

hey tjnyc, yeah the legs should definately be less bulky! hope the hands are crafted nicely to pull off some swank guitar work. I think his pants material is too thin, Tight long pants with flares are what i remember him in, but im not really from that era (born 83) so im not sure! but yeah hes looking really great!

Even better to see another Silo user about, I love that program its so fast and simple. Good for me too because I'm adjusting to Maya from Max and Silo is somewhere inbetween re: the modelling. Very cool :D Good work!

ps. it doesnt crash on me too much, i had it running for about 2 days when i first installed it (gotta get that usage out of it!).

The head was about 4-5 hours, the rest was about 5 hours. The tools I use the most are connect, extrude, spin edge, bevel and soft selection all hotkeyed. When selecting I have my hotkeys setup to jump select/convert selections.

The model is actually thinner than this, I didn't scale it down correctly in Photoshop, it made him look wider, but I do still intend to thin him in down some regardless.

Thanks all for the comments.
