View Full Version : how do you move the center/pivot of a mesh?
Testure 02-08-2010, 04:40 PM I thought it would be as simple as changing the selection mode to center or pivot, and then just transforming it.. but the little transform gizmo moves around and the center remains at 0,0,0
am I missing something here? my action center is automatic...

Just click on the center or pivot to select it before trying to move it.
There's no need to even change the selection mode to pivot. Just fire up the transform tool("w") and tick the "Pivot" checkbox.

pd: thanks for the info, I assumed that's what the checkbox was for but I've never been able to get it to work. the pivot and gimbal boxes are always greyed out for me, i'm not sure what is needed to enable them.

I've always wondered what that little tick box did.. though it seems to not do anything for me either?

I just realized, you need to be in item mode for it to work.
