Considering picking up a rig for running 3ds Max and Vray, and have read up on all that each components brings 2 the party. My work is basically architectural visualization, stills to be more specific. Currently, am deadlocked between choosing a system with the nVidia's geforce gtx 260 and the core i7 3.06ghz, or one with ati's radeon 5850, with the core i7 860 at 2.8ghz.
NB: they are both prebuilt gateway systems, the fx series... any advice would be highly appreciated, thx in anticipation. I must also admit to being a bit of an "nvidiot", as i have bought two hp laptops, a dv7 with a 9600m gt, and a dv6 with a mobility radeon 4650, and while on all forums and benchmark sites, the ati should smoke the nvidia, in real world performance, my 9600m gt was much better, being more stable and generally faster.
