the addition of texture on the image is strange but it's a personal choice, some will like and others not, each one its tastes , thanks for your comment McSpirit :)

Hello monks,

Really good picture - well modeled and textured.

It does however have that CG look that I at first could not put my finger on - it was a gut reaction - but after looking at the picture for a while I think it depends on the following three things:

1 - The shadows seems strange - I think that his right temple should not be illuminated if you consider the shadows on the helmet - unless he dropped a flashlight inside the helmet of course ;) .
The same goes for the opposite end of the helmet. In my opinion it should not be illuminated from the inside.

2 - The "fence" in the background. There is something with it that I have a hard time to define - I think I find it too regular/precise. Or it's perhaps too big? You could probably walk through the holes...

3 - The bump map on the material of the stone buildings in the background: I think that the bumps are too big. Both the structure (uv-scale) and the bump effect. At that distance in the background it should be a more subtle effect. Compare it with the "doors" (or whatever it is) who are much better.

Anyway: Great piece!

Cheers
/ Daniel
