View Full Version : Dose Blend Shapes Take up a lot of memory?

Currently my character is 21MB not including textures, I have something like 80 blend shapes on my Geo for the face expressions, and deformation problems with the arms and shoulders.

My question is, dose Blend Shapes add a lot of memory?

If by memory you're talking about file weight.... Yes they do. Blendshape are like any other meshes they have vertices, local matrix, normals. Blendshapes take a lot of process too. It can slow your rig too a place of no returns :eek:. I recommend you to check if every of those are really necessary.
