Haven't done one of these in awhile hopefully this one will go well, love the subject. Planning on just doing the bust, if things go well I will work on some more of his body. Will post reference images later.

So I don't have a scanner to post my main source images, but for anyone who has the lotr art of the fellowship of the ring they have the maquette on the last few pages. On that it has a flame on the top of his head sculpted.
Here is an update of where I am at. Just getting him into zbrush, I have some catching up to do especially with how fast everyone else is working.

Fixed up the proportions some more. I think its starting to look a lot better. I am gonna really need to look at teeth placement and size to capture this bad boy I think. There seems to be to many "versions" of him out there that emphasize different attributes more so the others I am going to have to clean up my source images more.

definitely looking better from the first post. one thing that does pop out is that his eyes seem to be closer in the ref pic and the the bottom jaw hangs lower.
looks great tho, impressive work so far

same comments as DaezD here.
i find the mouth to be really off as well.
I think it will become really problematic to fix this when you get into higher resolution.
My advice - not to get you down - would to start outside of zbrush to get some basic shapes just right.
This will make it easyer to rotate the teeth and scale them acordingly. I think it will make things easyer to get that into zbrush.
good luck on the model.

DaezD - thanks for the feedback, made some changes, also my posted source pic has changed to the style I want to make him after more.
Nothingness - Staying low res at the moment still, until I get him to a point I am happy with. I am going to go back to max to redo the teeth, so thanks for the advice. I think at this point there more there for just reference more so then anything final.
Well here is a new update, behind where I want to be with him, but hes making progress.
