View Full Version : Anyone know of any plugins for max or maya that do the same thing as audio waveform
mindstate7 08-30-2003, 12:11 AM Does anyone know if there is a plugin of software that will give me the same effect as audio waveform in After effects, except in 3d.
Basically it will read and audio file and create a 3d waveform depending on volumes and channels and such.
thanks for all your help and input...

No responses..... AHHHHHH!
Is there even such a thing or a way to do it without a plugin?
Any help would be so much appreciated...

I'd like to see this aswell,...
Even if there was a program that made a 2D one it could probably be vectorized. And at the very least put onto a plane. ANyone know of a program that does this atleast?

Grab that bonus tools, or download it from alias site the audioWave.mll.
It will create give you a new node called audioWave, probably you need to create it by issuing `createNode audioWave`.
For this node you can assign a sound file, and it will return the amplitude of the wave (volume) to hook up to any attribute you have in your scene.

bonus tools is an extra set of free plugins and such that u can use and download for free from alias. Unfortunately, if you are using a mac, like me, then getting this plugin to work seems to be a bit harder.
Thanks thus far for everyones help. It is getting closer.. Even with this plugin for PC, I am having problems with getting it to look like an actual waveform. The audio file does change the shape, thats for sure. But I tested it with a sphere.
Any odeas on gettig it to look like an actuall wave form.
Thanks again guys... YOU ROCK!!!!!
