View Full Version : rendering: crop to boundary box

I'm using 3dsmax to render source material for tileable textures, and consistency between the renders is extremely important (because I have to line stuff up... ugg).

So, my question is this;

Is there any way to define cropping of a rendered picture by the bounding box of an object? So that I can render a plane that is 512x512 max units at 512 x 512 pixels, without moving the camera manually? Setting it up manually is a bitch, since I get these small inconsistencies in scale...

Any help is extremely useful, I'm using Max 4.2, but I might sneak in and do some weekend rendering at work (Max 5.0... not updated as far as I know)

Any help is appreciated... it doesn't have to be 100% automatic either... heh... I'm not THAT lazy ;)

Cheers!
