After going through all posibilities & outsources, I have come to the conclusion that the best way to easily migrate animations from one console to the next is to just keep them as (render on the fly) type animations inside the game engine itself.

One effect though I am planning, is to use a widescreen effect for a lot of the level intros, etc. I am thinking the easiest way to simulate this is just to use two seperate planes for the sides and making the material a pure black with no spec properties.

Any other good suggestions?
