View Full Version : anybody testing OSX version? G5?
Just wondering how it's going on OSX (I know it's still WAY early)and if anyone has tested it on a G5 yet.

pjc,
I've played with the alpha a bit. Right now that's all you can do, since a lot of basic features aren't enabled yet. But it's just a matter of time. It runs smooth as far as I can tell. It will be a relief not to use classic or OS9 anymore. I sent in a few "issue" reports, but there hasn't been any later alpha releases yet.
I don't have a G5, so I can't say how A:M runs on one. It looks like the dual 2Gig G5 is gonna be a month later than they said, too.
Being a Mac user and an A:M user has certainly taught me patience!

Maybe features was the wrong word. It's really just little stuff, like the number pad keys don't change views, they nudge your model in the different directions instead. My Wacom stylus (which I love) doesn't work well with several important functions like adding cp's, connecting splines, opening objects in a window. Those are all problems with the stylus, if you don't use one you may never see those problems, my Wacom mouse works fine (but I want to use my stylus!).
Whatever does work, seems to work well. It's just difficult to use the tools that do work with all the little hindrances that pop up. So I guess I don't know all the things that are wrong or right with it yet.
I should keep plugging away at it, though.
