how do you model a screw with thread.

Use the spring default and play with the settings until you get what you want.

yeah i tried that but it just doesn't look real enough.

you can use 2 helix splines (one with a smaller radius then the other), attach them into one and connect their verts with new lines and use a surface modifier on them :) then you can eithe convert to epoly and add parts for the top and bottom or create the top and bottom from more splines and continue with teh surface modifier

maybe I am missing something but even though last method would probably work that seems like it would take forever. Helixs create so many verticies. Is there a quicker way to connect all the verticies other than using create line and doing them all one at a time?
