View Full Version : Reset coordinates for multiple objects

I am trying to do something quite repetitive so ideal for a script.
When having multiple objects selected, being in Object Axis Tool, it is not possible to reset rotation values in the Coordinates panel. When only one object is selected then rotation values are the values for that object and we can reset one of them or all to 0 or anything else, then axis are reset but position of object unchanged. When multiple objects are selected, all the rotation values are at 0 and cannot be changed to reset axis.
A script could process all selected objects one by one and reset then to the value desired.

Just input the values you need in the Coords tab of the attribute manager, not in the Coordinates Manager.

Thanks for your reply Rui, but when I do that it moves the object, even when the Object aAxis tool is selected. To reset to a certain value without moving the object I have to use the coordinates manager I believe. Please tell me if I'm wrong but this is what's happening here.

When you say that the objects get moved, you mean that they rotate back to the values that you input in the H, P and B fields, right? You only wanted to rotate the axis, not the whole object? If that is the case, I believe you really need a script to do that.

exactly! a script that would process all selected objects one by one and rotate the axis to a certain value (well, usually it is 0). I don't know where to begin really. I guess coffee or Xpresso...
