View Full Version : setting FK hold keys linear
mlager8 01-29-2010, 02:25 PM When I correct motion in MB I always set a hold key before and after the problem area, set the end hold key to linear, then add my corrective key in between the two holds. Setting the out key to linear keeps the base motion intact, the only problem is that sometimes I start getting erratic motion, upon further investigation it is usually the one of the FK's has an enormous curve due to the out hold key not being linear. This mean that every time I set a hold key on say the left hand IK, I have to select all three IK's and FK's in the arm and make sure each parts out hold key is set to linear. There has to be an easier way to do this than having to select 6 individual parts and changing their curve type every time I want to make a hold key, how does everyone else do this in their workflow?

I always just use flat key frames and don't have to many issues, should solve your problem.

Not sure if this will help ya but if you select the key from within the timeline and set the tangency there (by right clicking on the key ) it will set it for both IK and FK skeletons and all there axis on that keyframe.
