everytime you find something new and cool... :p, but seriously i kind of doubt it, they want to be able to market every feature they have.

I heard that if you hold ALT and press QWERTY Del Del 321 you can play a really poor quality Flight Sim game :)

Hi.
I can't believe at least one version of 3ds max doesn't have any easter egg. :p
Did search at eeggs.com, too bad, nothing about it. Tnks anyway, its a really great site.
The wish list do 3ds max 6 is still open? :D

The only thing that looks like an easter egg is the About box of the MaxFind Utility (and respective stand-alone tool in 3dsmax directory). Not really well hidden, but still... Play with it using your mouse when you find it...
Programmed by Christer Janson.
It is found in all versions since Max R3.
I guess it depends on what you would classify as an Easter Egg. I don't know of any clever little pop up or games. However there are quite a few undocumented features. One that I learned about a few years back was that the spinner values in max could be made to do math. For instance if you have a value of 2.457 and wish to add to it another 3.25, you can simply type r3.25 in the value field, max will add the amount to the original value. To subtract, you just use a negative number. Nothing major mind you but it was a cleaver little feature and it came in handy a few times when trying to model my backyard deck.
Cheers,

Darv,
I consider this a "not documented anymore" feature, because I remember it was around page 10 of the MAX 1.0 printed manual (which I still have around in the German edition) together with Ctrl+N for the built-in Numerical Expression Evaluator which can do heavier math stuff...

Bobo, the teapot at MaxFind it's already a start, tnks. :)
I consider easter egg a thing without any function conected to your workflow. If not, it just a tool. Dont now how to explain it in English.
The "r" I consider a trick, a nice trick though. ;)
Anyway, how can some one finde an easter egg, especialy at a huge program like 3ds max? Do they Debug the .exe?
I'm not a programer and dont know what is the insanity level that a programer can reach but, I think debug a notepad it's already insane. What i'm missing in this programers world? :)
I'd say in most cases the only way you find out about an Easter Egg in a program is for the developer to slip the word out to a few and then sit back and watch it spread.

3dsmax 5.1. I was animating a biped in character studio and I selected all the biped parts and right-clicked and then left-clicked on the Curve Editor and held down the left mouse button while it opened. Instead of crashing, my mouse cursor acted as an Etch-a-Sketch type tool on the Curve Editor gray backdrop (no keys showed up at all though). Needless to say, I had to abruptly end my Max session.
