This is a simple walkcycle I did and would like any feedback on areas of improvement you can see. I will be also layering on some other animation to the walkcycle to give the dinosaur more personality.

Hey man, the Dino is looking nice. I have a few notes for you.

1. It feels like his legs are stretching too far back. Have his stride be a little shorter.
2. The head is lunging forward too much, the motion is nice, it just feels too big. Scale back the keys and I think it'll be good.
3. Add some left to right movement in his body when he steps to add more weight.
4. Overall look for spots where you can focus on the weight of his body. He's feeling a little light for a dino.

Looks great tho, keep it up!

P.S. When you are showing a walk cycle, it's much easier to critique it when you post a movie that shows the cycle from 3/4, front, and side angles, instead of a rotating character. You can use the main mover to have him turn to the angles after a few rotations of the cycle.

Thanks for the feedback, I was studying the movements this morning and the Dino did look at little floaty like its light as you mentioned. I will make those changes and resubmit with the different angles as you suggested.

Looks good! Looks like a young albertosaurus.

Other than what the previous poster said, I would have the hands face each other and maybe tuck them in a little rather than have them hang down. I don't think that's natural for theropods.

Nice smooth movements, though.

Dinosaurs are like birds - Their heads move back/forward, not a whole lot of up/down. Don't rotate his head so much (or rather, counter-animate it to not rotate) up and down.

Getting better. I still think the hands should face each other and move closer to the body.

Looking at the front view, it looks like the knees go way out. Is that to avoid interaction with the body?

Hey man, this is looking much much much much much better.

1. I think the hands look much better tucked in, but maybe they are a bit too tucked in. Possibly try splitting the difference?
2. I agree that the "knees" look like they are pushed out too far, bring those closer to the body in the passing position.
3. The spacing on the feet as they hit the ground feels a little bit hard. Check out the last 3 or 4 frames of each foot before they touch the ground. I like the feeling of the "stomp", but it's more than just that, it feels a little poppy.

Keep it up, you're 95% there!

Read your comments and here is another video. I do have limitations on the rig for the arms so there won't be penetration. But here we are with the newest changes

I would actually bring the feet to land closer to the middle, feels like his legs are walking a lil bow legged. Other than the feet you have greatly improved the upper body, arms and head. Keep up the good work.
