After staying just a reader/viewer here and there for a long time, I've decided to model my first human head. I'm kinda old in 3D but i've never finished a head i started because i'm too lazy.So dont be shy, and tell my what do you think?
My head is created by just splitting a poly cube and the pushing/pulling vertices. Finally it doesnt suck when you find yourself in such a hell ! anyway it's amazing.
Here is a capture of my first model textured for test in an openGL viewport of Maya 4.5, and some wires:

Hope to hear good feedback.

Hey lazzhar, don´t worry. Some times we don´t have the replays just because there´s not too much to say. Think about, it can be good. Anyway, I have some coments about your model.

First, I think you don´t need to make the ear as another mesh. A single and seamless model can lead to a more complex object but in this case I think it will worth (metagons (http://www.metagons.com/)). It seems to me you implement the edge loops corectly but would be necessary to see the low poly model. One last coment, I think you have some skill to modeling, but you texture could be improved.

I hope you appreciated my coments.

Guilherme Lopes

Thank you very much, it seems there is a good fedback that's why i've not seen a lot of coments, but i'd like to thank you 3D strong and orozimbo.
i'm posting the low poly mesh so you could say something about the geometry of the head. i'm sorry for the pictures above didnt work today, hope it will starts tomorrow.
Just about the texture, i agree i'm not good in that but it just put the reference picture i created. i've not started painting the color map yet. otherwise i'd post a rendered picture instead of capturing the view port.
thanks also for the link it's very useful for my next heads. i think i'll make another one soon..

Much better lazzhar. As I realized before, you made a good work with the edges loops. But I noted that you could change the way of distribute the edges, mostly at the mouth. You might had noted in the models at metagons. My excuses about the ear, I was wrong, although it looks like a diferente mesh. Again, I think a better wire flow would help.

Taking a look at your replay, definitly you will improve your skills. Go lazzhar.

orozimbo, you made my day by your coments. Thanks a lot.
As it's my first human head , i'd stop here in modeling, i'll care about the distribustion of the edges next exercise. for the ear, i modeled it separatly in another file then impoted it to the head. that's why it looks detached, if you could see the wireframe you'll discover that i've not deleted the faces where ears should meet the head. i'd like to let merging each other late when i finish texturing.
Thanks a lot, and yes, it's cool that 3d lets peoples meet !
