on the vue forum it says there are 1,979 threads. yet I open it up and there are only 23 threads. are the numbers wrong, or is it something to do with membership.

When you view the forum, you only see the threads from the last 30 days, by default. The number shown on the forum listing lists all threads, not just the last 30 days.
