Hi, I'm currently involved in making a 3Dpic of a "futuristic 60's" space station interior, a bit like the interior in "2001: odyssey".

I have to make a LARGE pic (200cm X 150cm) for this, to be exhibited in a London gallery. The thing is, it has to be good quality as well (at least 300 DPI). It's going to be put into a greenscreen assembly with a female flight attendant.

Q: What is the best possible solution for making this? I'm guessing I have to make several overlapping cameras and render one cam at a time, then assemble in Photoshop..? Or is there another, easier way?

I work in MAX 5.1, on a 1200Mhz AMD, w\128RAM
(..I know, but I cant afford a bigger machine.. ):annoyed:

Any help s appreciated!

Hi,

your image has to be 23622 x 17717 pixel (200 cm x 150 cm x 300 DPI). I don't know what the maximum output size of max 5 is, because i don't use it. But I think you will get some problems to work on such a big image in Photoshop with 128 MB ram only. The image size will be 1,2 GB without layer and undo in RGB. So be sure your temporary space on HD is big enough.

I think you should talk with the people who will print it, to check out if 300 DPI are really needed. Many inkjet plotters only work with a maximum of 120 DPI.

Tim
