All your links, apart from the first one seem to be down. Is there a problem?

BVH, isn't that a poser file?
That kind of takes the fun out of it doesn't it?

A big hidden market is Law firms needing
accurate 3D recreations of car accidents, shootings etc.
not as glamorous as working on starwars but it pays the rent

Adrian are you kidding? I have been making cash on 3D since grade eleven, second last year of secondary school. Man my first paying job, onehundred dollars for designing 40 beautifal posters with a friend and classmate of mine, Remember that Chi?
ANyways, I have always been able to find something small, but if you want the big bucks its the less fun things that are morelikely to be hiring and paying (they need to keep you happy in the less fun jobs by paying well.) I am really looking into jobs as a rigger, just because I know more studios are looking for that, and pople who can do basic scripting. Find something your good at that is fun, and something you are food at that isn't. YOu'll probably start off in the industry in the one that isn't but at least your in.

right on kaiskai!
I don't think I'm at the level yet where I could make a dollar or two, but "them is good werds" to hear! Where do you look for such projects?
I'm assuming that it's a matter of "who you know?" :) Even if it's lawyers, he he.

Definitely related to who you know, but these type of forums are really handy. I have been in contact with people from Fox, PIxar, ILM, Weta, Lost Boys, just to name a few of the bigger and better ones, just in web forums alone, and CGchannel has a few here quite often.
For the small jobs, most were through my highschools great arts program and such, but I also offered freelance serveices to many of the pronting houses and such in the community as a freelance. Offer them something you know they don't have, being smaller print shops and design studios, many have little or no 3D experience and such and that is a great way to get some work. I find that you learn a lot more doing project oriented stuff then by dabbling, tough all essentials are learnt through dabbling. My skills get far more refined as soon as I have a project with a deadline and such. Really helps to get the mind thinking and such.
