View Full Version : The Sideshow- character - dinlenmis
dinlenmis 08-28-2003, 01:31 PM Hmm.. I should say that I wasn't satisfied by the hapless hero challenge. I had worked a lot about it, created three illustrations, and succeeded to finish the final image minutes left when I should be in bed or in a hospital maybe. I didn't get much comments, I was just hoping for some people to express their opinions.
Anyway, last night I saw the subject of the new challenge and decided to join this time. Good luck everyone...

I thought about twin characters presented as "The Man with 2 Heads" but they have two different characters in fact, as two poor brothers sharing their bodies and feelings. This is my theme.

@bibi5000> No, I don't need to check the anatomy for such a sketch. Hey don't you join this time? I would like to see your works without such references.
Thanks for your comments guys.

I've drawn the characters. Next, the most difficult part comes, the background. I need a detailed scene to form the "mood". Yep, mood is everything for the theme. I was thinking of setting the background totally in photoshop yet I think I'll need some lineart.

I've deleted and re-uploaded the image. I hope there'll not be a problem any more.
I need your comments about the pic. They're conjoined twins but they have differences from the ordinary. The body is wider and the heads are less nearer from each other allowing them to move it more separately, and this detail gives a chance for them to have a more unhuman creature appearance.
But I may draw it again if I'll get negative opinions about its anatomy.

Hey, I've did things for the background and began coloring. I don't think I'll draw the characters again.
And here is the poster for the twins' sideshow.

Oh I'll be mad with these sites, tripod, geocities, brinkster and whatever. I upload images, but can not give links or images in replies. I think you've seen what kind of a thing we met in the place of the image. Also the same thing when I link. Another site gives error to the link. I'm online for hours to fix that problem is there anyone to help me about it?

Well, you can always use the fanticabolous cgtalk attach system, or this free server that allows direct image linking (keep it secret) (http://www.domaindlx.com/)
There are more tricks, as the txt geocities system, http linking or even paying for a web space. Good luck.

And the background's pencilwork, does not include the poster.

Hello,
Really like your lines and coloring. Is it done in Photoshop? If so can you tell me abit about the way you color it? Thanks :)

Colors in photoshop, lines with pencil. I use paintbrush with low oppacities. For the background, I placed a darker texture layer under the light texture and made shadows by deleting the lights. Same thing for the poster. And all the other easy things that everyone knows. Thanks to you, too. :p
