After a quite long period of intense studies on a couple of major visual fx subjects, I finally decided to test them on a real project.

This is my first short movie, that I mean as an almost "One man project". I'll get some help to carry stuff across the town filming, and to avoid getting raped and robbed (he he :P) and I will let a friend work on music and sound fx.

I'll take care (and I already am) of all the rest. Plot, story board, filming, editing, 3D and post.

I mean to mostly use matchmoving and camera projection to mix 3D and real shots... and of course a lot of post production.

I spent almost the last month modelling and animating the protagonist. I had to walk through 3 models to get a convincing result, but I'm quite happy with the last one (you can find a render down here).

The actual name of the project is TAKE... and I think I'll keep it. I also have the logo clear in mind... but of course, at this time of the (pre) production the logo is not at the top of the list of priorities!

The story is quite simple, maybe event too simple... but the project is ment as an "exercise de style"... so the story is not very important... and I will not spoil the plot... since it would take away even the smallest interest that lies behind this mistery :P
I can tell you it will be set in Paris, city where I live and work (even if I'm italian).

It will take me a long time to accomplish this challenge, I know... I plan to finish it in 6 months or 1 year, working a couple of hours a day after work, so I won't be able to post frequent updates... but I'll inform you about how's going on!

Well... what else can I say... dunno... mmm... ok: aaaaaand CUT! :P

Yes, I know... I told you the logo was at the bottom of the list of the priorities... but I really had it clear in my mind that waiting for some renders I worked on it and... voilą!

p.s.
I'll be able to post the first screenshot of the first plate I'm working on later today :D

Here we go with the First screenshot. I know it doesn't say much, but gives a little bit of an idea of how the whole thing will look like. Very soon I'll post the movieclip of this scene (that in my compositing takes forever to render!!).

I'm working really slowly on this project and I'm now announcing that there will be a big stop in the production process.

Here in Paris is too cold (actually early in the morning when I'm supposed to go filming) so I have to wait for some sunshine. Spring is slowly approaching and I hope to be able to film very soon.

I leave you by the way a first Teaser trailer, enjoy:
