Hi!

Nice rendering and lightning. This picture gives me the impression, that it has been painted.

For my taste the shadows are a little bit too dark (maybe some fill lights?) and i wish I could see more from the environment.

But overall :

Yes, my goal was to do a picture more like an illustration than a photo ! The shadows are dark because i really like contrast but i'll maybe make some new renders with other setup of light...

This is really great! it has a real nice sense of atmosphere think the kind of subtle rustic colours work well to give it that olde town feel  Only crit I would say is that I think the castle wall in the far background is a little out of scale and the textures look a bit blurred. The rest however is brilliant. Front page I think!

Damn I like it... It really has that 'aged' feel to it, especielly on the objects, they look worn.

 pandaA: I like it, the amount of deatal is excellent, I only got one crit for the morning that renders shadows are way to dark I think you should lighten them up :annoyed:

I like it too, but the walk way bothers me it looks way too narrow, seems like people would be tripping over their own feet trying to walk on that thing. :surprised

Chywly, what do you mead by "It looks way too narrow" I m frenc, i don't understand, can you explain with another words? please

i see what he means.

The part where it appears the humans should be walking is much too narrow. The people would be walking single file.

That's exactly what I was thinking!
First off, it is a great piece with some issues. The issues are that some elements are out of scale.
The bench outside the door looks way to big and the sidewalk is way to narrow.
Aside from these issues, this is a fantastic piece of work!

Cool. Nice painterly look.

Aside from the walkway being small, some things look too crisp. I noticed it first on the windows -- the metal is too angular or the texture repeats too much or something. Needs a little touching up.

Also, as is visible in the wireframe, but not so much in the picture, the barrels on the right side seem to sink below the ground.

Anyway, cheers,
good work,

-Tony

Thanks for explainations, now I understand what "narrow" means, but in the middle age the streets were narrow, there was no big avenues with many people can walk!! I'm agree there's maybe some scale issues, but this pictures is more fantaisist than réalistic!!!

Nice Panda, it's better than the renders you show on 3dvf, you have really improved your picture. Myabe some color correction with photoshop to add more contrast. Great job

Oh, this is just lovely! I'm currently building Camelot City and I've been looking for nice artwork for reference, didn't found much though, till now.
This scene is amazing! Really love this one and I hope if you don't mind me stealing your little archway idea... hehe, gives a really nice mood to it all.

Btw To Lildragon: why isn't this on the frontpage?

frontpage? I personally don't think that render is that great - it is nice but looking at it, I don't understand why you guys are all going bananas over it. Its competent at best. The textures that you've used seemed to all be given a gaussian blur treatment and the barrels on the right seem to have sunk into the ground (if you look at where the 2nd copper hoop is, you will see what I mean).

Ofcourse it's a matter of taste, but this image has got a very good feel... and you should always try to learn from work that's better then yours, giant

Thanx, everybody for your support and the others for their critics, I recognize that this is image is not perfect, but I worked especially on the mood and the lights!!
Soon I'll correct the things you noticed to do a greater iimage and maybe this one will be on the front page...
