View Full Version : WIP: she's baaack
AdamT 08-28-2003, 06:35 AM Some of you might remember the head from this figure, which I posted a few months back. I finally had a chance to give her a body, so she's much happier now. She's set up with a basic sIK (legs)/FK (rest) rig, based on Naam's tut in C4D R8 Handbook. Still needs plenty of work, but I plan to use her in a personal short that may or may not ever see the light of day.

Hi Adam,
Nice to see a character from you. She looks great.
I think she as a slightly asian touch. Can we get
a closer view of the head ?
cheers, Bob
Hi Adam,
nice progress!
Some nitpicking:
You could delete one row of polys at the wrists - they seem very long.
Left thumb, you seem to have accidentially pulled a vertex here - or maybe left it out when weighting with CB?
The feet seem small - it might be the angle (- as a rule of thumb a foot is as big as the distance from elbow to wrist.)
The biggest issue I see, is how the polys loop from the breast into the shoulder - that might cause some deformation trouble. The loop that is broken by the tri ought to continue as the shoulder. Should be fairly easy to correct though.
Cheers

Fab! Only problem I would add is the groin area, looks a bit broken and sharp, could be the angle or lighting?

Thanks fellas!
Pit: great tips as always. That armpit transition was bugging me, but you are absolutely right--was easy to get rid of that triangle there. About the wrists, I could lose a row of polys, but I think the bigger problem is that they're too thin. Good pickup on the thumb vert--need to adjust that CB map. The feet aren't quite done, but they are proportional, i.e., one forearm or 1 1/3 head. I think the lighting and angle make them look smaller.
neilyb: I didn't put too much work into the groin area, since she won't be nekkid in the final product. Whatdya think this is, Renderosity? :)
bobtronic: funny how when you come back after a few months a model you were reasonably happy with can look like sh*t. Well, that's a little strong, but I'm not too happy with the head at the moment. Hence the dim lighting:
