Hi people

This is my first thread at CG Talk and thought that maybe some of the more experienced guys in modelling in Lightwave (or any other software) could help me. This is an attempt of a VW Bug Cabrio. So far, so good. But there's a problem.

I don't want to make it as a single thing. In a real car you can see the gaps where the body panels meet each other (spotted in the picture above-right). I want to create that effect but I don't know what kind of technique to use. Should I model everything toghether? Or in separate layers? Should add the gaps after freezing the SubPatches? As you can see onthe larger picture, I'm a little messed up... Help would be really appreciated.

Thank you very much

I suggest you detach the hood object from the body, then chamfer its inner edges further inwards, then apply meshshooth. Sory if it's unclear
