Hey all I am hoping someone with Mental Ray experience will pick this msg up and reply me, I am panicking. 3200 frames to render and too little time as such I am scared to do tests and am just letting the computers render unless someone here can shed some light.
I am using Maya2010 with Mental Ray. Scene has trees using Binary Proxy so I am in BSP2 mode and raytrace only; renders just fine. Oh and its only a camera move.
I have
GI Accuracy - 500
FG - 100
Mitchell for filter quality
Ambient Occlusion Ticked - 256
I also ticked tracing - Optimize for animation
I did the FG point caching and mapped the visualization of the FG points. I made it do that every 10 frames which now I am thinking maybe I should have done that for every frame.
I have all objects in the scene given a black surfaceshader as this is my tree pass. To my horror it is STILL flickering. Is the FG too low? is my scene too big? It looks good as a still so I just want to stop the flickering which I was delighted as I thought the FG point cache would prevent it.
Or isit the AO being too low?
PLEASE HELP!!! im really freaking out.
