Hi all-

Been a Alias user for about 7 years now and now finally taking adavantage of some cool renderers available to max now. I picked up max about a week ago so I am kind of a newbie here. My problem is such, I have cars that I have modeled in StudioTools/Maya that are nurbs. I exported them from Maya as .iges files and imported them into max. I then used powertools/translator to convert them into polys. Everything looks good except some pesky normals are flipped. I literally can spend HOURS selecting them and reversing them. Now, in Maya I can just say turn normals off so both sides render. Can I do this in max? I tried turning customise>viewport>force2sided on but it only fixed it in the window, not in the render. Is there anything I can do???????????????????????? Thanks in advance:)

Quickest way to do that is enable "2-sided" in the material editor. (little check box in the upper right of the rollout)

You might take a render hit if you're using raytraced materials, but it'll do the job.

Try applying the normal modifier and hit unify normals, that should work...

Good luck
