Only thing about it that throws me off is I see the window and my first reaction is why is the lighting wrong, then I realize its not coming from that window, but another window. Sorry not much of a tip, still it looks great, but maybe the same render with the light shining through the visible window would look better?

I agree with the comment about the window. It threw me at first as well.

The image is pretty moody. Very nice.

Well, last night I tried posting. But it did not post what I wanted to say. Anyways, Im going to give you the short version of what I posted.

I think that the lighting is a bit off. The light casting do the upper part of the window would probably not happen in real life. Barns or storage areas are not perfectly level with the earth nor are all the parts of the structure. So I believe the light casting above the window is flat. Same with the right side of the window.

Also, the light inside does not seem to be spreading like it would in real life. Maybe you need more samples if you are using a Rendering System. If not, I would recommend finalRender Stage-1; it's cheap and the results are awesome. If you have the extra cash, try out Brazil R/S; another good tool.

The shadow area's seem to be using a black shadow cast, in real life shadows cast the complement color of the casting color. Also, looking at the sun direction from the shadow, the time of day would seem to be dusk or dawn. So the sun color would not be yellow. It would be closer to a Yellow-Orange and the shadow casting should be closer to a Dark-Blue brownish color. If you have no idea what I am talking about, please take a look at a Color theory book. You check out the web. I am sure there are some references to color theory out there.

Now, this is the tricky part. The background image or the light direction need to change. Once you decide your light direction you need to then decide what the outside objects will be. In the image you have there are tree's, so I would assume that there would be grass just outside the shack. That means that the light cast on the top of the window may have a slight green cast coming from the ground.

If you use a rendering system you would not need to worry about this. Just create a plane outside shack and apply a grass texture to the plane. In most cases, if the grass will Raytrace onto other objects (meaning if the light will bounce to that section of the window, it will effect the light color), the rendering system will be the most accurate for this.
