View Full Version : FOR REAL: Walking Dinosaur at Disney Parks
RobertoOrtiz 08-28-2003, 01:37 AM "If you visit the Disneyland Resort this week, keep your eyes peeled for the new creation from Imagineering: Lucky the Audio-Animatronic dinosaur is loose in Disney's California Adventure. "
Roberto's comment:
Didn't they listen to the warnings from Jeff Goldblum??

Okay, I'll admit it... that looks pretty cool, even if it has that "crappy, disney-approved not ad-libbed banter" with the human actor attatched to it.
My daughter would flip out, as I imagine most little kids would upon seeing it walk up to them. :D

Hey that is pretty nice. Animatronics have come a long way.
Wonder how much up time it has before hydrolic misfires and turns it into a dead dino. :D

So they're paying some person to drive around a remote control dinosaur all day?
Where do I hand in my resume??

whoa! i luv it! thats just too damn cool.
Stunning! After watching it in action all i can say is that i've never seen something that has been so well animated that isnt being operated by a whole film team with wires everywhere, and is on a daily basis being used in huge crowds. Stan watch out!

I believe that they are from Dinotopia but since when did Disney have anything to do with Dinotopia? Please tell me they did not steal the idea and tried to make it their own flavor. However if they did hop in bed with Dinotopia imagine the new theme park they could create. I say rip down California Adventure and build Dinotopia Adventure in its place!!!!

He's still pretty slow, and from what I saw it looks like he has to stop and take sideways steps to turn.
They're comin right along, though! Nifty!

dinotopia was a show for a short while on like nbc or something like that, and disney owns that network. so, the show was made by disney, which is probably why it's not on the air anymore :(

Dinotopia is still showing, at Disney Channel I think. Thanks for the links, Roberto.

Whatever happened to just the plain 'ol dinosaurs family show, you know with the baby "not the mamma". That show was great, and I think it only lasted for like a season or two...
