View Full Version : Enchanted Forest - Environment/Character - SeanW
SeanW 05-20-2002, 05:25 PM Ok this sounds really challengeing plus ive been wanting to do these giegeresk trees for a long time. These are concepts of the look im going to go with for the trees. Also in the scene I plan on having a some type of female elf. Female because ive never done one before and also a unicorn which is also something Ive always wanted to do. And I will hopefully achive some sort of dark enchanted forest in which these two characters will be in the middle of. And maybe I'll throw in some glowing eyes in the background to give the forest more life.

My mainpage also has some weird trees which will serve as more concept for the models.. www.dreamwinder.com

I guess the best way is to start with a simple tree structure and go on from there ...well, isn't that the only way!? :) Try to keep the trees as low as possible at poly count to avoid getting in big troubles later on when modelling the details and stuff that covers the trees. And i think it would be good start at the trees cause if you going to have problems they will probably occur while doing the trees. .....that would be my humble opinion how to handle this..well at least to get started and if any problems occurs you can only turn to people here ;)

Yeah, this will be in 3d, textured and everything. I'm doing the unicorn now, I might try to stylize it a bit go give it personality. After the unicorn I'll work on the Elf girl. Then I'll do the trees, I'm doing the trees last because I think they will be the most difficult. Unwrapping for the texture will be difficult. Anywho thats how im going to tackle this beast.

I just though I would post this because it was a really awesome tree I saw at this mission in california. Anyway, I though some would like to see this to give them ideas on how to make their tree not so generic as you can see my trees are a little similar.

Hey Sean, awesome concept sketch!
Wow, I really hope you can pull that off in 3D!! That's going to take a hell of a lot of work :p
Best of luck, I'm really really looking forward to seeing what you are going to do with this :bounce:

Nice, nice. Reminds me of a fantasy artist that I´ve lost the name of. Could check when I get home. (interesting? no.)
Would be real fun if you implemented some really evil/obscene stuff in the trunk of the trees.
