seanrs 01-20-2010, 03:16 PM The left part of this image is a texture i created in photoshop...When i import it into blender as a TGA file, i looks like the left side..this isnt a consistant problem for me, but does happen sometimes, what am I doing wrong,,,Thanks

eh, it's kind of hard to see because the picture is small, but it looks like your importing a png, not tga.

I've experienced the same thing when dealing with png - which blender is assuming your image is png.
I deal strictly with either tga or tif for textures now from Photoshop. PNG doesn't support the same type of alpha channel data that tga or tif do - the alpha data is stored within each R,G,B channel, instead of a discrete channel - I think that has something to do with it.
But, from what we can see of your image, it might be more than just an alpha issue.
(I wish I could remember details to the same problem I had, but it was about 5-6 months ago.)
Actually in photoshop there are 2 different ways to saving a .png one is trough 'Save as'(weird implementation of png), the other is the correct web-standardy png, trough 'Save for Web & Devices'.

that might infact be part of the problem... I'm pretty sure I was doing save for web with my workflow, as it's the proper way and what I do when I do web work. And I still had the problem. Wish I could find the files and replicate it.
But that doesn't change how the alpha gets saved. It's just a different spec.
