i'm not quite getting what you mean... are you trying to get two vertecies to go into the same place? you could always get one vertice and hold V and move your mouse over the vertice you're trying to move to...

Flattens CVs, vertices, lattice points in their average plane. This is the compiled version for Maya 4.0 on NT. This plugin is useful for multiple patch corners tangency, curve/path planarizing, terrain modeling, etc. Enjoy. - Special thanks to Adam Martinez for compiling this for NT.
