I was truely happy when i saw that another challenge is launched, since i didnt manage to participate in the last ones. So now i am going to start as early as possible, so here is a drawing of the scene. I forgot the showerhead and i guess i will add another tentacle holding a desklamp to the scene.

the rough layout in 3d, as u can see the left wall got much closer, to narrow down that squid, but lucky for him, there will be a red emergency exit light over a blocked door, illuminatng him... more to come soon.
critics and comments appreciated.

this is the start for my marionette, wich is going to replce the kneeing filmguy from my first drawing. i always had the feeling that my 2 charakters in the scene more or less distract or dislike each other. so, i fired the cameraman, and gave mr.monster over there another job, he is going to play the cameraman as well... with one large tentacle that is coming from the back.

here you can see a little more detail on how he is going to handle all these arms. most of the objects hanging on the boards are about final... well without any meaningful shader and so on and so forth, but since it is going to spend most of the time in the dark i am going on and focus more on my characters in the scene.
so now that i have basically positioned this small incredible machine, i can start modelling my monster into it. right now the boards seem very straight and static, i am going to bend them a little, so you can imagine better what weight is mounted there.

so this is the actual state. i changed the aspect to portrait to have a clearer focus and a better arrangement of the essential parts and characters of the scene. and besides it doesnt look like a huge studio anymore, but like the basement of some smalltown house that i had in mind.
and another good sideeffect, the tv in fron of the monster is going to do a far better lighting job, then that atrificial emergency exit sign i first thought off.
hope you like it sofar, to be continued... comment and critics welcome

I think it is great! Your observations on the scale are right on. I cant wait to see the monster bathed in the blue glow of the TV.

this looks like a very original idea, I'm liking it a lot! the lighting and modelling is looking good so far, can't wait to see the monster squeezed in that narrow space he's got left...

Cool concept. I like it very much. :buttrock:
And the modelling looks great as well.
Good luck with the challenge.

Thanks for your comments... the lighting is just a very rough previz rig. specifically 3 point lights. but lighting will be my focus once i finished modelling...

the marionette is almost finished as modell. there will be some changes, mostly with the strings and how it is attached to the cross above.

ok, camera is in position... next up are the changes on the walls, the position of the lamp and the taperecorder.
and theeeeen: there will be a monster... i hope so, still not to sure how to approach this beast. but as always, solutions come while creating.

The overall composition of the picture is good，I like your contrast of the shape.
