Hey
I have an extruded a circle along a path to create a tube and then attached a lattice to the surface. After editing the lattice points and deforming the surface i want to be able to delete history on the surface and therefore baking the deformed shape but i still want to have constructoin history between the orginal curve path and the surface. Does anyone know how to do this??

Any help would be most appriciated :)

I don't think that's possible... You have to keep the lattice.

No, I think it is possible.

Matthew Doell, has written a script call freezeDef.mel, back in 2001, try to find it in highend3d.

What it actually do, is get all the effect of a deformer, and converted it as a tweak and delete the deformer, so the shape will be retained when the deformer deleted, it remove the deformer and add a tweak node in the construction history.

Best regards,

ok? That's true... but instead of a lattice you get a tweak node in the history... maybe more lightweight, but still.
