View Full Version : Virtual Walkthroughs
eokorie 08-27-2003, 08:51 AM Is it possible to create virtual walkthroughs where the user can navigate around with a mouse and keyboard in Cinema4D? Or do I design the enviroment in Cinema 4D and export the C4D scene to another software package for that?

you can do it in C4D. It's called the "editor view" ;)

like durrr.... i know that... what I mean is outside cinema4D. Is there a way of converting the scene as a sort of exe file that can be executed?

oh well... guess i will have to convert the Cinema4D scene to a 3ds or Direct X format and import it into Quest3D for my work.
Thanks anyway

sounds like you're talking about VRML 3d worlds using a web based plugin, which c4d can export, I'm not entirely sure how you set up a scene to work like that though, it may be covered in the manual, I don't have it to hand at the moment
have a look on the net for VRML examples

I have been able to use the VRML exprot features of Cinema4D. But what my client is looking for is a "Quake II" type of enviroment where he can actually climb stairs, hit the space bar to open doors and things of the sort. As far as I am aware, Quest3D offers such an environment. But since it can import Cinema4D scene yet, I will have to save my Cinema4D scene as 3ds or Direct X file and import it in Quest3D.
