I'm trying to find a specific answer to a question of mine ... all the white papers don't seem to have anything specifically answering my question. Anyhow, I use a Dell Optiplex GX100 pizza box PC and am tempted to install my spare Ultra ATA100 controller card into it to get a speed boost. However, I don't know if the thing already supports ATA100 or not nor can I find it on google.com... i type in GX100 in google and I get loads of sites for used PC's. =( so is this upgrade worth it or just redundant?

or if that doesn't work...

Check out the motherboard info and/or the drive info sections.

It should give you the information you need, as well as providing for a possible benchmark between the onboard IDE and your controller card's IDE.

yah, i got Sisoft Sandra but cannot find any specific information about which ATA standard the board runs.... I'm pretty sure it's ATA66, but can you verify that? There is one module for hard disk drive something... but it doesn't come with the shareware version of Sisoft Sandra that I got.
