Wow, where to begin. I love B-Budget movies, especially from the 50's. It is going to have to be a giant monster invasion, like Godzilla (my all time favorite monster) or a mutant creature of some kind. I am leaning towards a movie idea I have been working on for a while called Human Food. It is loosely based on the 1950's classic The Killer Shrews.

So here is the teaser text:

Blarina Brevicauda: Found in most bushy or woodland areas. They are capable of constructing elaborate underground tunnels and are effective climbers. Voracious eaters they must be fed frequently, consuming three times their weight everyday and will even resort to cannibalism.

...AND THEY HAVE JUST GROWN BIGGER...MUCH BIGGER.

Here is the basic concept for my image. Mutant killer shrews attack several people who have chosen the roof of their cabin to make their final stand. The local dam has been blown to flood the valley they are in.

Here is the final version of the shrew minus its hair. I didn't put much detail into because of the volume of fur that will be covering it.

The modelling is very good but the Fur is quite impressive Todd.
His this any other book of yours? Please don't make me spend more money looolll
I really like this look, are you going to work on it a bit more, or his this the final one?
Have developed the entire animatic or is this camera angle only?

Awsome Job Todd! Love how maingy his fur looks. You can almost smell his stink! LOL. Mouth looks a little clean though, he need some chunks of human flesh rotting between his teeth. Oh and flys, dont forget the flys.

Yeah, I hate his mouth. It just doesn't have the right detail. Covering it up with bloody appendages is a good idea!

I might re-sculpt his mouth and add/modify his teeth. I cheaped out on the edge flow so I just dont know if I will have the time for an overhaul. I was thinking of maybe adding some heavily chapped lips, like dry skin flaking off. Of course in the tradition of B-budgetness the shots of the creature will be fast and camera friendly.

No worries VTeixeira, I have no plans for putting this in a book. Hmmmmm, well maybe. LOL.

But it would be cool to have that in a book :deal:

Walsh was a lifer! Serving 25 years in the state penitentiary, he was hard and cold, a walking dead man. But when his prison bus collided with an overgrown beast during his prison transfer , he new his luck had changed. Or had it. Now surrounded by overgrown mutant shrews in a desolate cabin, Walsh has begun rethinking his luck. Trapped with a bunch of vacationers who can't bear to kill a spider, Walsh must make the decision to save his own life or of those around him. The killer shrews are relentless in their onslaught on the cabin. To make their last stand, Walsh and the vacationers retreat to the cabin's roof. They put their hopes in a man potentially crazier and more dangerous than Walsh to sneak through the shrews own underground tunnels to blow up the nearby dam, in order to flood the valley.

This challenge was lots of fun. Here is my overview and credits of everything used in my final image:

All elements were created in Maya and rendered in Mental Ray.
The female model was original modeled by Seth Russell (www.3dapathy.com (http://www.3dapathy.com)) for my book Maya Cloth for Characters (http://www.speffects.com/index.php?id=book_maya_cloth).
All other 3D assets were created by me or built in presets supplied with Maya.
Various images were used for the human textures both for the 3D elements as well as retouching the final renders from www.3d.sk (http://www.3d.sk).
Various images were also used to texture the environment from www.cgtextures.com (http://www.cgtextures.com/).

Thank you all!

My image entitled "Attack of the Killer Shrews", is based off of the movie "Killer Shrews"
