hello all. i have been reading the front page of cgtalk. about the morons who keep using others meshes and such. i was wondering if i use the otto or meg or other included meshes in cinema as my starting point for other works is this ok? is this considered stealing? or do i have to make royalties and any junk like that? i probably have overlooked something simple again. thanks for any patience.

oh yeah. Btw i saw someone doing some drawing of a guy that looked like he was being sprayed with chocolate. the painting/drawing was very realistic. i do not know if that person took credit for it or not, but i saw the same picture in the current MAXIM MAGAZINE tonight. except this pic was blue not chocolate and was an advertisement for nautica cologne or something. i was just wondering if this was another stolen work. anyways thanks for replies to original topic.

you should always credit your sources, at least ifyou're posting the works as your own. if you use a mesh that is considered "royalty free" to use such as i believe Otto and Meg, and the various Daz/Poser meshes then it's fine to get paid work using them (if that's possible) however you would be foolhardy to market yourself as a modeller using them. or to post them here in the gallery as "your own work" you must always acredit any elements in your work that aren't your own (here and in interviews/in your portfolio).
