View Full Version : Cellphone-6.5 hours WIP Nokia 3560
ToddD 08-27-2003, 02:06 AM Product model/render-Still needs some work, modeling is almost done. Was bored and just got a new phone last week, so over 3 nights I whipped this up. Basic render with area light, and 2 dim omnis. Things that need tweeking: the piece with the openings for the charger and headset(place holder right now) and the key pad needs a slightly softer chamfer. Also havent worked on the screen yet. Anyway tips crits and pointers are always welcome.
Oh and a tech question for max users. The numbers on the keypad are done with a mask and bitmap, anyone know if I could make an illuminated version of the numbers map(jpeg) and have them actually throw off light? Thanks for your timehttp://zneekinround.250free.com/poster-01.jpg

Don't usually use Brazil, but here is a hdr render from the last public version. Samples are low due to slow PC.

hey, i like the last render best. With the buttons, you could give the number texture full self-illumination, then use omni lights to make a VERY soft glow around them, this is just a quick fix though.

Thanks Gumber I'm going to play around with the illumintation when I'm done, good suggestion, although I might bite the bullit and try to do it in Brazil, I'm sure I can get it to work  I appreciate the response, I know it's not an exciting topic, but a few weeks ago someone was looking for a person to model this type of thing, I figured a product model wouldn't be a bad thing to go with my bunch of cars
