My skills have come such a long way since the secret agent challenge, so hopefully I'll have the ability to create my vision this time, instead of biting off more than I could chew...

I love "The Nude Caveman From Canada", subtle, but soo much potential. Cool generator thing!

I've narrowed it down to a few for now, so I played around with some Titles to try and get a retro-ish feel to them...

Was just thinking about the donut one....
I had this idea about a big goofy looking animatronic/puppet Donut....
and perhaps a mad scientist that is creating these "scheming donuts"
01-19-2010, 05:34 AM
i liked "The Sneaky Kung-Fu Woman" :(
but never mind :D
gud luck to you man

while i haven't finalised what the final subject will be i do have a good idea for the overall concept
i'm going to attempt a pixar-y-ish type of look (something i've never done) and have it be like a little behind the scenes diorama
things i might include:
- bluescreening a giant monster off to one side (donut of doom!)
- cameras, lights and other film equipment
- some dodgy set pieces
- visible puppeteers
character wise i'm thinking of the following
- typical hero
- typical heroine
- camera man
i recently watched UP and was just feeling really inspired to do something in that style so i figured this is as good a chance as any....
some concepts soon....
EDIT: @razeeem, not to worry, i haven't worked out exactly what i'm doing yet...
01-19-2010, 05:49 AM
Concept for the director...
and yes there's a little russell (from UP) inspiration in there

You've got a good thread going already. I personally liked the tongues from earth...Somehow an invasion from our own planet has a backward style of humour to it!!.
01-19-2010, 06:19 AM
i'm quite fond of the tongues from earth too....
this is an old beer ad from australia which is a jumping off point of sorts for living tongues
01-19-2010, 06:22 AM
Good Luck! I like where those doughnuts are going.
01-20-2010, 11:56 PM
i've just had an idea....its based around the 'santa claus vs the bees from another world' concept
think 'imagination vs reality'
01-21-2010, 08:36 AM
fleshing out the chubby ol' present giver himself...
i've decided not to go with the pixar style....as much as i'd like to its just not part of my skillset yet(cartoony modeling)...it hopefully will be for a future challenge though...
01-21-2010, 08:50 AM
Side on view of Santa...
For a first pass of my first fat guy I think he's coming out quite okay...
01-21-2010, 09:05 AM
Looking good so far Paul. Nice quick progress.
01-21-2010, 10:54 AM
started on the base meshes for santas clothes....
- his jacket will be open at the front to display his manly hairy chest and rippling abs...lol
- the sleeves will probably be ripped to show some hairy arms and some tattoos
- Pants will probably have some rips in them somewhere....
- he'll also have army boots on
01-21-2010, 11:36 AM
that`s one angry santa ........ keep going you are doing great
01-25-2010, 03:14 AM
i've been struggling to find a good pose for santa, plus a composition for the whole scene.....
hopefully i'll have made some progress on it in the next few hours and i'll post something up.....
01-25-2010, 05:10 AM
okay...i think i've worked it out....
here we have a rough as guts idea for the poster for my movie.
What you're looking at is this:-
- Santa riding Rudolph, blasting away at something
- a damsel on the back (i'm undecided on the whether or not to have the damsel...but what a b-movie without a damsel)
- up the top is the leader bee with his bee army behind him (as i said...its very rough, i'm hoping to come up with something cool for the bee-people)
the idea is that the shot of santa and co is superimposed over the top of the images of the bee people....
so thats part 1 of the concept...more in a sec...
