View Full Version : Animation: Out of range, cycle
moglie 08-27-2003, 01:51 AM I'm wondering if someone could help me understand using "out of range" option when animating with regards to setting keys. I understand how to set up and object to "cycle" in out of range. But I'm having trouble grasping how to set keys to adjust it. For example, say I have an object I want to spin on it's z axis for 300 frames or something like that and I used out of range, cycle to set up the spin. Then after frame 300, I want to manually keyframe the object to slow down to a stop. The help file just isn't helping me out here. Can someone explain form me a little better? Thanks.

Sorry moglie but you can't do that. Out of range types simply create loops/cycles etc in the ranges either side of your current animation. You can't animate them on and off.
To do your spinning thing just put a "euler xyz" controller on the rotation for you object and animate it spinning normally with keyframes.
Hope that's some help,
cheers,
phil

You can collapse the animation of the out of range until that frame using
motion/trajectories
or using
out of range keys utility within trackview(the hammer icon)
