View Full Version : enviornment: The lab
bob6994 08-27-2003, 01:34 AM This is my first time posting here, as well as the first time posting any of my work. I am still an amature as I have only been doing 3d work for about 3 1/2 weeks. That being said I would be happy to get any crits or ideas on this fairly simple scene. thanks

3 and a half weeks! eek, I don't think I could do anything like that at 3 1/2 weeks...
I think that the whole thing needs to be lightened up a bit, because it is a bit hard to see, I also think that you should have more tools, beakers etc. on the bench.

Wow... in that short time thats great...
the image does how ever feel.. empty..
more tools just as said before... ..maybe a chair...
Looks a litle like a "mage lab" so some more tubes with strange substanses maybe something to consider...
Just keep going your doing geat so far... looking foward at seeing more...

Nice old iron material on the table!
The gobo lighting is beautiful but strange.
At first look we don't see that the table is just against the wall. Also black blurry borders of the table could be more clearly seen.
Keep it up!

Just a quick update for those interested.
I'd first like to say thanks for the support from those who replied it's good to know I am on the right track.
Now on to the update, I lightened the scene a little (it still needs some work). I also added some items to the scene (Thank you The_Row I was debating on the chair). I adjusted some of the textures trying to dull the glass containers some, I also filled some of them but ended up with kind of a cartooney look so that needs to be fixed. That's about it just a few other minor changes. Please keep the C&C's coming thanks.

If anyone has any tricks for making a layer of dust on objects, or a good creation process for cobwebs I would be much obliged.

I have made the images smaller to accommodate cgtalk upload, instead of using free webspace. Here is the updated image. Please see previous post for list of changes.
