View Full Version : Thinking Particles Problem

I've created a plane out of particles by using the nodes PSetData and PSurfacePosition. To be able to move the particles, the PSetData Node is deactivated after some frames.

I want the inner particles to rotate around the center of the plane
(like a tornado without height). As bigger the radius from the center as slower shall they move.

I tried the PMotionInheritance node and a fast rotating Null Object, but the particles are moving to the center of the plane.
I want them to be in a circle like orbit. Does anybody of you know a solution?

Sorry for my bad English, I hope you understand what I mean :)

Thanks

you can just have the null there at teh centre, but rotates slightly, then multiply hte particles position by the global matrix of the null (there's a matrix multiplier in there somewhere) and divide by teh distance form teh centre.. or just multiply by the particles velocity (and use a wind or osemthing to get them moving.

Thanks, but I've found a solution by myself. I took a slowly rotating Null Object and used the PMotionInheritance Node. Then I increased the Inheritance. Now it works fine :)

But I still don't know, why it works with a slow Null Object and not with a fast one :)

Hey jan can u post some pics of your node in expresso ?
Just to see how it works that so I will try to do something like that just to know more expresso tecnics !

Thanks and Cya :)

Here is a Pic of my xpresso setup. The 'Wolken'-Group is the plane of particles, I talked about. (Wolken=clouds and Bewegung=movement)
