View Full Version : Multiple bump maps in Maya?
Baaaah! 08-26-2003, 02:10 PM Hi,
Does anyone know if it's possible to create a shader in Maya, that has two seperate bump maps? So say for example, I could have a bump map defining grooves in a wall and then have another dedicated to the simple grain of the texture. :hmm:
Thanks.

I can't get the 2 bump nodes to connect. Is there anything else I have to do?

You can use a layered texture as input to your bump map. You will probably have to fiddle with blend modes and opacity to get it right, but it can be done.

Just create the two textures that you want to be part of the bump map, and then just multiply them in a multiply/devide node that can be found under the utilities section in the hypershade.

Electrofirma's methode is the most user friendly, (if you're not adicted to the connection editor!:scream: )
BTW, baaaah! If you mix 3d with 2d bumps check the provide3dInfo on the 2dbump. (just a tip for the road...)
