View Full Version : How can I export animation for flash (in vectorial)

Hello! I have Maya 5, I would like to export animations in vectorial format, to import them into flash. So I need to have SWF files exported from Maya or anyway something I can import into Flash as a vectorial animation. Do I need an external plug in or can I do that in Maya 5? in both cases, can you explain me the steps to do it? thank you very much! Antonio

Maya 5 allows you to render out your images as a flash animation. My luck with this is very basic colors, nothing to detailed. All you do is in the Render Globals switch over to vector render. The Animation Frame is at multiple, for animations, single for stills. Then do a batch render. Believe you can't see the render till it's done too. But you can use the render view to adjust the lighting still. If the Vector Render isn't in the Render Globals turn on the plugin under Windows->Settings and Preferences-> Plugin Manager. Flash can do high quality images, if you want more detail than what Maya gives you, just render them out like you usually do (might have to convert them into .bmp or some format Flash knows). Knowledge of Flash will help here, but you can make sequence out of your animations from Maya that can play in Flash. Hope that helps.

Ok thank you! I could render in SWF format following your instruction, but I still can't render an animation, it render just one frame even if I select name.ext (vector multi frame). How can I do? thank you again

For multiple frames you have to do batch render. Thats under Rendering->Render-> Batch Render. It will render the entire sequence as one file. Hope that helps.
