Hi everyone,

I'd like to share with you my last personal project: "Two sticky mud balls".
It's an experiment to understand how fluids, particles, force fields, cloths, wires, fur, wet maps, displacement maps and particles accumulation can work together.

I did everything in Houdini, hope you like it.

Very well done, sir! Nice to see the level of detail, controlability and layered approach you have here. Pro!

cheers!

ps I would love to see render with realistic shaders. (like semi-transparent alien-like saliva ;) )

Thanks SYmek,

Do you have any suggestion to do a semi-trasparent alien-like saliva?

I thought to simulate something like this: http://www.leleberti.com/Thumbs/jelly.jpg

Any ideas ? :)

This case study deserves more attention :)

I really like the blobbyness of it. Your particle approach for the left behind trace is very organic and loks natural. You should oda tutorial about it on Vimeo :)

I checked out all your other researches. Nice stuff!

kind regards,
Anselm

wow,great stuff , the fluid/med is very convincing and looks awesome , and i like the squashiness of the ball , is it some kind of soft body dynamics or cloth sim ?

Thanks Anselm, TP for your compliments.

I'm glad to hear it looks "real" and "convincing".... that was my first aim.

@TP
It's a cloth sim; if you like why don't you take a look at case study and the making of and if there is anything you want to ask me, please feel free to do it.

@Anselm
I didn't think the possibility to make a tutorial, but I'll do;
at the moment I already started a new little project... so, I'll let you know... :)

Cheers
Emanuele
