Hi Forum,

I'm starting a little sparetime project at the moment. Abstract flowers. Would be interesting to hear what you guys think about it. Thanx in advance.

And please also check out my first little test animation. It's in soerenson3 format to ensure the Mac guys won't have problems.

Hi Adam,

Thank you! I don't use XFrog as I don't have it :-( But this kind of stuff works fine with my self developed TimeTrails Plug that I finally ported to C++, hooray!

cheers mnu

Real nice. Does it render pretty quick? It would sure be cool to see a patch or a field of them "blooming" at different times and speeds. I'm sure you already want to do that though. It sure would be a strong dynamic backdrop to have some characters walking past this alien flower field as they are "blooming".

Thanxs again,

yes I had fields of flowers in mind, of course :-) I think I will need the new Shader Pack of Arndt von Koenigsmarck to deal with Cinemas Ray depth limitation. My concept was to let the flowers grow on a grey and empty cityscape. Here is the first layout shot.

cheers mnu and thanx all for the comments.

did i read this correctly? You made that image with a plugin you wrote?

I would be very interested in checking that out, as abstracts are my thing :)

ARRRRRgghh the server busy messages killed my post!!!!
anyway in brief this time.

love the colours...love the shape...like the cityscape concept...would like to see a render in a cube with radiosity and orange tint! dunno why just curious.
i've been using xfrog3.5 and importing into cinema..had good fun as planning on upgrading to 4....whats this plugin you developed do...sounds and results look stunning....if you need a beta tester!!! i'm your man...heh heh. but i would totally understand if you didn't want to release such a tool....either way...top job....please keep posting this stuff...love it.

Hi all,

thanx very much for your comments. I'm glad to hear that you like this more abstract stuff, cos I like it, too :-)

The flower is patially done with my TimeTrails C++ plugin. This is the same as my old TimeTrails COFFEE plug. It clones an object for every frame in wich it is animated. But with the slight difference that this can be animated smoothly in the C++ version! Unfortunately im new to C++ so the Plug is very unstable yet. Alpha, so to speak. If it's evolving as expected, I'll post it for free download.

The shader pack I'm talking about is the new plugin from Vreel Entertainment. It deals with C4D's ray depth limitation. If it's exceeded cinema renders all following objects black. This shader allows you to texture these black areas. Very nice for hair, grassy hills and, for sure, flowerfields :-) It's reasonable priced, get it...

so long, cheers mnu
