View Full Version : Animation Challenge: New Years - Woody Smith
ankheilw 01-13-2010, 03:32 AM I am having trouble getting the original post moved over. I haven't had any critiques yet, so I figure now is as good a time as any.
Here is a link to the second pass of the animation.
I added in a bit of overlapping motion and played with the timing a bit. Still looking for critiques.

Hey MrMike,
Did you click on the link below the image or on the image itself? The link takes you to Vimeo and it seems to be working here. Can you check it out and let me know if it works for you?
Thanks

Not sure if anyone is even looking at this:) I made some refinements and added in some polish elements like particle effects. Take a look!

It's looking pretty good! I like your idea, the only critique I could have is just to keep refining your motion ins and outs. The words dropping at the end was well timed, though.

Thanks for the crits and kind word. Sorry it has taken me so long to respond. I have been slammed at work.

I did a low res render of the animation with some effects. Still need to add the shatter to the bottom of the ball and work on the ins and outs a bit.
Keep the feeback coming.

Looks like we are nearing the end here. I'm putting the finishing touches on the animation now and compositing. Just adding a few last minute tweaks, but like anybody on this forum, I could work on it till the cows come home:)
I added in some overlapping motion, finessed the feet and ins/outs a bit and added in camera motion. I always like a little of the handheld feel in this kind of animation. It helps keep the frame alive. I also added shattering pieces as the ball hits the main character.
Looks like we've got a great competition going here. Keep up the good work folks!

Got a base render done last night. I still need to add the countdown to the clock and the confetti particles. Trying to wrap this up today or tomorrow.
Any last minute critiques would be appreciated.

It looks very nice. I like the home movie camera approach.
I think the movements are fluent and great. =]

I guess I'll go ahead and call this final. As always, I have to leave a few changes on the shelf, but I look forward to seeing all the great work people are putting together for the deadline.
Keep it up!
