Don't have long to learn this.

I have a bicep setup, a fully rigged character, etc.

I connected the muscle to the character. I painted the weights for the muscle. But the muscle doesn't affect the mesh at all. The actual deformation thats been painted onto the character seems to have some effect, like if i paint it all red where it deforms it has a crease there. But no bulging or any manipulation of the mesh caused by the muscle.

Please help :) I am using maya 2010.

Edit: just painted another muscle, massive deformation, but moving the muscle doesn't deform the mesh, only painting the muscle on did.

Also I can't paint weights for my tricep muscles, they don't show up in the paint weights tool... but both the bicep and brachioradialis do.

ok if i make a new scene, a cylinder, a 3 joint chain, and set that up for maya muscle it all deforms just fine

if i go into my scene with my character, and setup a cylinder over the character's skeleton and rig that cylinder to work with his current muscle system it works! its just the actual character who wont work, is his mesh bugged?

but my character doesn't work... i've done it over time and time again, but it just fails each time

someone please help, i'm running out of time

here's the scene file, it's a bit butchered since i've been playing around with every setting there is...

if you can fix it please tell me how to rather than just sending me the fixed version

cheers

i've done that, it's not something obvious, it is an actual BUG-- and i need to know how to get around it.

duplicating the mesh and deleting the original fixed it...
