Hello everyone! I wasn't getting much feedback at another forum I posted this at so I'll try my luck here. Looking for some critiques. Thank you for looking!

Here is the current progress

Hey man,

I would say that this is off to a good start!

The main thing that sticks out to me are his ears... the modeling feels like it could use a bit more attention in that area. Try to focus on the medium sized shapes that make up the ear, and it'll come together in no time.

Oops. I probably should have probably provided reference. The ears look disgusting because its a condition known as cauliflower ear. The ear fills with fluid when traumatized enough. Not sure if that was what you meant. Here are some pics though.

Pretty much got all the color in there. Need help with texturing the fabric. How do you make cloth lines go down the shorts without crisscrossing? Crits and comments appreciated.

@eldee: thanks, that was new to me. very useful but it doesn't work for me in zbrush 3.5 r3. When I press the UVtile button, nothing happens. It works in zbrush 3.1 though. Any ideas as to what the problem might be? I also tried it on primatives with no success .

hey guys, I can't get my spec map to work in mental ray Maya. It works fine with maya software.

here it is plugged into the spec roll off of a blinn. rendered in maya software

mental ray

the only change made was the renderer. the file type is TGA. I plugged a 2d fractal into the spec roll off and it worked. For some reason mental ray doesn't want to use the spec file. I can get my normal map and diffuse map to work fine.

I could really use some help.
