Hey guys, I currently attend the Art Institute of Vancouver, and this is my run cycle assignment we were given for the week. Our teacher wants us to post our WIP online for critique. Any and all comments/critiques are appreciated! Thanks!

1.Choose what kind of run cycle you are going to create. Have a goal/purpose.
What is he running from? Why is he running? what kind of Robot is this?
Even it is a bacis cycle you still need to consider style of run cycle. Since it is a robot, you need to make it more like mechancial walk rather than human walk. Go observe some running scenes in I.robot or other robot movies.
2.Sorry for hussle from above, just by looking at your run cycle,it looks good.
Pose and Timing seem fine. Nice up and down with head tilting in a cycle as well as overlapping actions. But like I said it is hard to tell the meaning of run cycle. It looks like he is tired and chasing something? or running away from someone? Then maybe you should change your arm postition little bit wider.
3.Just a small thing that usually happens in a walk cycle too, when the character's body goes down (Recoil position),the arms need to be at the widest and go down little bit.
But in run cycle since so much actions are happening in a short period of time, keep the arms slightly similar with previous frame. It will look more natural and active.
Overall, you have a nice run cycle. It just needs to be defined little bit more.

Updated version of my run cycle I had to do for class. It has to be 24 frames and "basic", which means we can't give it any characterization (ie. a sad/happy/tired etc. robot).
Thanks for viewing! All c & c are appreciated.

A lot better,I can tell that is a robot running.Oh and I did not know that 24 frames seem too long for regular run cycle. Are you guys running 24 frame per second? When I was in School we were asked to do 16-18. Anyway I think you got a lot of potential for animations.

Yeah, I agree, I think 24 frames is too long. His movements are like a run, but the speed is like a jog. And yes, we are using 24 frames/second. I'd like to mess around in my free time and make a quicker run. Thanks for your input!
